Currently, as shown in the figure, the commonly used annular guide rope device is composed of several sections (3-5 sections) to form a ring, also known as a nut, which is fitted on the outside of the drum. It cannot rotate by itself and moves along the same axis of the drum according to its relationship with the drum's thread pair.

The wire rope is automatically and periodically wound to prevent skipping, which may cause the wire rope to become disordered, deformed, and accelerate wear, reducing safety. Another function of the guide rope device is to automatically raise and lower the limit. When the electric hoist rises or falls to a certain height, the guide rope device pushes or pulls the lever on the electric hoist drum, causing the fire prevention limiter to be de-energized or energized, causing the hoist to automatically stop or run. Therefore, the role of the guide rope device is very important.

Working principle of the guide rope device:

The guide rope device itself cannot rotate. When the drum rotates, it winds around with the wire rope and is driven along the axis by the threaded groove. At any time, the wound wire rope is accurately introduced and led out of the spiral groove of the drum, and the wire rope is discharged from the groove of the guide rope device. The guide rope nut meshes with the drum rope groove, and the drum rotation drives the guide rope nut to move laterally to ensure that the wire rope does not randomly place in the drum rope groove. The rope guide plate moves laterally to both ends of the drum. When it reaches the limit position, it drives the limit rod installed on the drum shell to move together. When it reaches the limit position, it will contact the limit switch installed on the main motor to limit the position.

How to replace the guide rope device? The guide rope device is a consumable part of the wire rope electric hoist. When installing the guide rope device, first stop the power of the electric hoist, remove the wire rope, remove the hexagon screw of the guide rope device, and then remove the guide rope device along the wire rope. During this period, before installing the guide rope device, attention should be paid to arranging the wire rope in the rope groove to avoid the possibility of the guide rope device being damaged again after starting and use if the wire rope is not in the rope groove.
